Hygieia
Hygieia is a goddess from Greek, as well as Roman, mythology (also
referred to as: Hygiea or Hygeia, Latin: Hygēa or Hygīa).
Hygieia is a goddess of health, cleanliness and hygiene. Her name
is the source for the word "hygiene".
Hygieia is most commonly referred to as a daughter of Asclepius,
god of medicine,
who was instructed in the art of medicine by the centaur Chiron
("chirurgy").
